Dear Agatha,



I truly believed for a loooong time that I would never enjoy  the mysteries by Agatha Christie. But maybe because of my age, maturity or my current interest in the culture of the United Kingdom they have been great reads. 
No, I haven't solved any of them before the end of the story, but they sure keep me interested and guessing.  I've read almost one from each of her styles now. Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple, and a  general fiction mystery. I still have to read one in the Tommy and Tuppence series.  I have to say "I love, Love her general fiction mysteries."  She can sure spin a great tale!!!


Check out this list of books she has written. I checked out this particular book just to photocopy this page.  The page is from a Hercule Poirot mystery, one of the last and I sure don't want to read it now in the beginning of my adventure with Agatha! 
For shame!!



I'm really looking forward to pecking away at this list of stories during 2018. I will not declare an Agatha Christie challenge, these delightful stories are too good to gobble up all at once. I will read her books as if eating good chocolate, a nibble at a time. 
I am not going to increase the goal number of my reading challenge.  I will shoot for the previous goal of 40 books in a year and see if I exceed that number.  If I do read that amount, then I will bump the challenge up to a higher number for 2019. I don't want to "over challenge" myself, and become a Dr Suess character, "she was reading on a bus. She was reading on the train. She was reading by a bush and reading in the rain!"

A Birthday party 🥳

  Tuesday night we celebrated the birthday of a close friend. We went out to eat at a local well-known restaurant in new Smyrna call The Garlic. I have wanted to go there for years, so it made the celebration extra special for me. What a wonderful surprise, it really is an interesting restaurant. I haven’t seen a restaurant as decked out as this one in years. They have so many wonderful things to look at and the food was incredible.  The dishes that they served the food in really made the meal amazing. Everyone had a lot of fun and went away full and happy. It’s definitely a place to go for a very special occasion. I would definitely look forward to doing it again.

This is the last post of the winter season, hope to see you in the fall. Everything is wrapped up here in Florida so we are ready t “migrate” north for the summer.  I’ve enjoyed chatting with you and will miss our times together.  So long for now. I bet you can tell where I am.

Yup! You guessed it the cat place, where you can drink your drinks, munch your snacks and pet cats the whole time, or if your like me you sit and watch the cats the whole time.  Tori was of course in her glory, petting a smooching cats everywhere.  Each of the cats have a pink or blue ribbon on them identifying them as male or female and with their name so you can look them up on a paper, that is on a table in the room, so you can tell how old they are.  I did find it very interesting watching the different cats interact with each other and us. They have little treats you can buy to entice them to come to you to be petted.  Tori was like this practically the whole time, this is her "happy place," amongst cats.
