CATagorically speeking.


Innocently walking along on my way to do some Christmas shopping at our local outdoor mall complex, (not to Christmasy looking, except for that light pole) minding my own business and i look up and see this...



I'm thinking "what is this?" A cat supply store? A cat grooming place? think think??  I walk closer, OH MY GOSH!! Its a CAT CAFE!! Just like in Japan and NYC.  I'm all gooses bumps thinking "my daughter would LOVE this!"  



This is a pic of the inside, they had just opened for the day and I was the first there. This pic was taken through the little circle holes between the lobby and the actual cafe where the cats are.  You pay $5.00 and can go in and sit for an hour; although the owner said some people sit for lots more than an hour. You can bring in your own drink or buy what they sell there, it all looked so cozy and sunny. 



the following are pics of some of the kitties. There are up to 38 a day. The cats are from our local humane society and are ready for adoption all spayed neutered and shots up to date.  I can't think of a more wonderful way to meet your future house mate. MEOW!!



This little fellow had his eye on me what a cutie. I'm not normally a cat person but I am very attracted to petting furry animals and the owner said "you just sit in a chair and wait for one to sit on your lap to be petted", I could go for that once in awhile, (I'm actually planning on going back, part of Zen therapy LOL)

Gosh, I could have gone right in an sat down between the sunny room and all that furry cuteness, I would have had to call a cab to get home because I'd be so chilled out. But, duty called and Christmas shopping needed to be completed. Soon Soon Soon!

Yup! You guessed it the cat place, where you can drink your drinks, munch your snacks and pet cats the whole time, or if your like me you sit and watch the cats the whole time.  Tori was of course in her glory, petting a smooching cats everywhere.  Each of the cats have a pink or blue ribbon on them identifying them as male or female and with their name so you can look them up on a paper, that is on a table in the room, so you can tell how old they are.  I did find it very interesting watching the different cats interact with each other and us. They have little treats you can buy to entice them to come to you to be petted.  Tori was like this practically the whole time, this is her "happy place," amongst cats. Goodness she can go on and on about the virtues of each cat and she only met them once. This cat below is my kind of cat, wonderful to be seen but not touched. I love the trailing days of fall, the light is different and the air feels just right. It always amazes me how the sun casts such a different kind of lighting onto the trees and other green thing this time of year almost like a spotlight but not harsh or hot.  I had a wonderful crop of raspberries just enough for a couple handfuls each day they were fun to watch progressing over the summer. At one point I had a scare. Some of the raspberry bushes got some kind of grub egg in them, I forget the name now but it lays an egg somehow that causes the top 3 inches or so to wilt. I googled it and got directions on how the save the plant and I think  I caught it in time. PHEW  I The garden as a whole is wonderful, a wild but productive place.  We have this one pretty maple tree in our backyard but unfortunately it may go next year we need the space to plant some fruit trees. I hate to cut trees but they grow like mad here.  I’ll leave you with my b

This is the last post of the winter season, hope to see you in the fall. Everything is wrapped up here in Florida so we are ready t “migrate” north for the summer.  I’ve enjoyed chatting with you and will miss our times together.  So long for now.
