Recapping the summer.

How do you like those Yucca?  I’m amazed at how well they are doing in our soil, I’m wild for them. My mother had a bunch of them by her pool, when the pool was filled in they were cut up and randomly spread around. The following year I dug up half a dozen babies and planted them in my raised bed in the back as nursery plants for a season or two. Then I replanted them out front of our home. They sure add drama.
In July we went to Long Island for my husbands 50th class reunion (no pics of that☹️) but we both had a good time and I got to meet some of his childhood friends.
Seeing we were on the island we drove the rest of the way out and visited hubbies brother and sister in law on shelter island. We were treated to a day at the beach it was beautiful and sunny my sweetie took a break from the sun to check his phone and a picture had to be taken, tee hee!
In August I was thrilled to go to the Washington County fair and do a public spin with my local spinning group. I chose to bring my Navajo spindle, it is portable and I can spin comfortably with it no matter what type of fiber I’m  spinning.
Over the summer  I even got a chance to spin some German Shepherd fur, a fun challenge. It was knit into swatch squares for the owners of the dogs.
Lastly a fail of an adventure. I bought a lovely adult female English Angora rabbit.  It was a fail because I was just not adequately prepared to house and care for her the way I should. I returned her no refund but talked about getting a baby in the spring to start small and work up. They are a pretty big breed of rabbit. I did pluck and clip her fur getting enough to spin and work into some nice yarn. So at least I know I can work the fiber when the time comes to own one.
Those of you that know me know I have a small Netherland dwarf house bunny already so, “yes” I’m a rabbit lover.
So here I am now winding down from summer getting ready for the fall migration in a few weeks to our home in Florida.  This will be our 5th yr. so it’s not an issue preparing it sorta seems natural.
Well, toodles for now,
Alicenoneland
